| Okay, so I used to defend Tobey when talking about season five, but I've been thinking: I shouldn't.
Jack was a dick in season five; he was wild, irrational, and generally an ass, but he did something that the others, with the exception of Pacey, seemed to be incapable of: moving on. He was trying different, ridiculous things, but at least he was trying.
And so Tobey shows up one week(end) unannounced and expects Jack to drop all of his plans. He then makes that comment about not being just one of Jack's priorities which, to me, is incredibly selfish (yes, this coming from a Dawson fan--don't start).
Did Jack blow him off at that time? Sure, but what was he supposed to do? He couldn't just drop his life right at that moment. He can't be faulted for attempting to move forward and trying new things.
