anywayz, whats done is done and we cant really change that but i still think they belong together, toodles |

| FYI... the person who runs this forum is CRU, and I have never known CRU's posts to exclude or make anyone's opinions unwelcome. Actually, everyone on this site is really great. From my experiences, all ideas and posts seem to be welcome.
If you stay around long enough, you'll find that the dynamic changes every now and then as new posters come and old posters leave.
Hope you have as much fun as we all have . |

| Okay, I will start with I am a P/J fan without a doubt - but I am going to add my 2 cents for what it's worth.
In the beginning........ I was pulling for D/J, won't lie, but as the years went on it became obvious that there relationship was not based on romance or being in love, but the love you have for your best friend. Someone very dear to you, that you would do anything for, your confidant, your shoulder to cry on, etc... Soul mate if you will, but not Love of Your Life -that was Pacey.
It was mentioned above that P/J didn't get along in the beginning, this is true, but I add this cliche' "there's a thin line between love & hate". They never really hated each other, but definitly known for there unrelenting banter. They still did things to help each other that proved they really did care - Ex. Pacey taking Joey back to see her dad after visiting hours & slipping the guard $20 to let her in. Joey talking to Pacey after his fight w/ Dawson about the stolen PSAT, telling him that you don't believe the consenus about being a loser until it's true & giving him the cold Pepsi for his busted lip. Just to name a couple.
With that said I will stop, no need to higher a hit man, but I had to let that out! :) |

| ok Jenbrit, before I launch into one I'd just like to remind you..... you asked for it!!
First of all, what do you mean
[quote:0078fedfd2]it became obvious that there relationship was not based on romance or being in love, but the love you have for your best friend. Someone very dear to you, that you would do anything for, your confidant, your shoulder to cry on, etc... Soul mate if you will, but not Love of Your Life -that was Pacey. [/quote:0078fedfd2] ????
Surely the love of your life, (if that is truely what they are) has to be all of those things... a best friend, someone you'd do anything for, your confidant, your shoulder to cry on? If the love of my life wasnt all those things, I'd want a refund!!
I'm sure you believe this too, In which case I can only think that you were subtley making the point that While she loved Dawson for all the above reasons, Joey simply fancied Pacey more, and that was what won the day. Is that what you meant? If so, I have issues with that:
Firstly, that would mean you were suggesting mon object de l'amour was pretty shallow and made sex the deciding factor in the biggest decision of her life, and considering we're talking about a girl who lived in mortal fear of sex and everything it brings for most of her adolescent life, well, it just doesnt sound very Joey like does it?
Of course, ultimately you go for who your most attracted to in the end, but you cant deny she had a big physical attraction to Dawson too, and if that was there, then surely by virtue of the fact he was her soulmate, Dawson ticked all of the other boxes?
I think the attraction to Pacey was based on the fact that it was different and exciting because it was forbidden - Thats the only thing I can think of that Pacey had over Dawson (If we dont get into the debate of who was more attractive) and surely that excitement, that 'difference' would only last for so long - it fizzled out once, and it would fizzle out again cos in the end you always go back to the one you loved first, and the one who knows you best, and as Joey freely admitted, that was Dawson!!!
over to you jenbrit!! |
