What if Joey had asked Pacey to stay.. In season 3 instead of going on their trip.. In season 4 - what if she asked him to stay and try to make things work at the graduation party? In season 5 - what if she asked him to stay in Capeside with her instead of going to LA with Audrey? In season 6 - What is she told Pacey she felt it too at the dance? Would Pacey have stayed with her at any of these occasions? And how would it have affected the course of their relationship?  11/9/2006 8:03 AM    Sugarless 4860 posts I'm not so sure that it would ever have been good for P/J to stay... anywhere... anytime... in season three... joey was right... their trip made for a great foundation. If they had stayed in capeside, they may not have made it... they needed to be strong together in order for joey to deal with dawson, she had a hard enough time as it was... - he would have stayed if she had said it soon enough, by true love though, there was no stopping him... in season four... pacey needed to go... alone. It was his time, his turn, to do soul searching... to figure out some of who he was... he couldn't have done that with her right there with him... she would have tried to hard, done too much... he would have always felt like he couldn't have done it without her. - he wouldn't have stayed... now... if she had kept at it, he would have caved... but he would have been able to withstand an attempt... because he knew what he needed. in season five... hmmmm... damnit, I need to rewatch it first, because I'm not sure... but this one has possibility... though a trip of their own would be better. in season six... yes... if she wasn't running scared... if she was able to fess up that she felt it too... he would have stayed with her, and they would have made their way together. That wouldn't really be asking him to stay though, because he was already there... she'd just have been saying she's staying with him. They could have made it from that point on... because if she had told him that, then she would have already been over her issues of the heart... being afraid of getting hurt by him again... and at that point in season 6, that was the only thing left to be an obstacle... dawson no longer was... pacey's issues no longer were... sorry it took me so long to get to this girl...
