| Tagline: Young love takes a bumpy road when they gang travel back to Capeside, but an unlikely piece of news gets them all pondering the future...
Relationships and Reunions
Joey: (packing her bag and talking to Pacey) I wonder what the big news is? Bessie said it was important.
Pacey: I heard your dad’s living back in good old Capeside. Maybe it’s to do with him.
Joey: Maybe. (stops packing) If he is, that means we’ll have to get our families together. You still haven’t got my dad’s blessing!
Pacey: (teasing) On second thoughts, I have that meeting at the Icehouse… (Joey turns to look at him and rolls her eyes)
Kidding! I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
Joey: You could cook! My dad would be impressed.
Pacey: How does a barbeque sound; all the friends and family? Then it’s less formal.
Joey: You’re not nervous are you?
Pacey: Nervous, why would I be nervous? (pauses) There’s no reason to be nervous, right?
Joey: (laughs) well I’ve already met your parents and they were OK about it.
Pacey: (in a sort of deep, half teasing voice) but Josephine, it’s different now. I introduced you to my parents years ago as the girl I was kinda in love with- my inspiration to want to go to college. What are you gonna introduce me as? The guy who took away your most precious and sacred of womanly things?
Joey: (laughs again) Just get packing Witter…
(opening credits)
(Scene- Bodie talking to Mike Potter)
Bodie: I’m starting to worry. She came in the other day from the hospital and threw up. But she still won’t tell me the news. She’s waiting for Joey and her friends to come home this weekend. I don’t know whether to be excited or upset!
Mike: Well, you probably know my daughter better than I do by now, but from what I remember, Bess could never keep a secret from her sister. Call Joey, ask her if Bessie mentioned anything to her.
Bodie: Thanks Mike. Now, do you want pancakes, or is this a simply business call?
Mike You got any of the famous blueberry? My grandson tells me they’re to die for!
(Alexander and Lily come in)
Lily: No Alexander, we’re watching The Waterboy!
Alexander: aww, grandpa! Tell her that The Waterboy stinks! And I’m older… and I wanna watch sports!
Mike: (laughing) Alex, it’s barely even 10am! Just watch the movie with your little girlfriend!
Lily: (giggling) thanks uncle Mike…
Alexander: I’m older than her! Puffing out his chest) besides…I have a girlfriend.
Mike: Al, you’re only 11!
Lily: he’s going out with a 14 year old!
Mike: (looking surprised) What?
Lily: yeah, Hannah Witter- Staples!
Bodie: (laughing) looks like another Potter-Witter union on our hands…
Mike: (frowns) hmm… (under his breath) we’ll see.
(all turn to look at him, looking surprised)
(Mike fake smiles) so… pancakes and a movie?
