Dawson's limo pulled up just outside of joey's apartment building and grehoun turned to dawson and gave him a nod" Here we are mr. leary" Dawson tiped him after saying" i know this aint a taxi but i enjoyed talking with you mr? grehoun " grehoun frist name only or id have to kill you" they both laughed before dawson steped out and slowly shut the door behind him, he look'ed up and thought to himself good lord she lives way up there. But at this time dawson's moad went from pumped to scared to death. He wasn't sure what he was going to say. or if the speach he had prepared would come out right. He then walked up to the door man and spoke" Hi i need to get to miss. potters room, the door man begain giveing him dirtations and dawson walked in. At the train station pacey had finnaly made it to new york and before the time he had thought. he hadn't slept much so he was kinda of drusy. He sat down on a bench and opened his bag and pulled out his ceil and dial'ed joey's number. she picked up.
Pacey: Jo?
Joey: Pace...Pacey is that you
Pacey: Yeah jo its me.. im sorry about last night i lost control im at the train station
Joey: really what time does the train leave capeside?
Pacey: No jo im here in new york..(softly laughs)
Joey: good we need to talk you want me to come and get.......hold on someones at the door can i call you back real fast?
Pacey: Sure jo.
As joey hung up the phone she walked over to the door and looked through the peep hole and she closed her eyes and put her right hand over the top of her forehead. the door bell rang again but she hesated to open the door because she already knew what was going to happen. slowly she unlocked the door and opened it. there stoud dawson holding flowers and the biggiest smile she had seem him have in a very long time, she slowly managed a smile motioned her hand for him to come in.
Dawson: Sorry for showing up without calling joey, but after are talk i didn't think you would mind( all the while just looking into her eyes)
Joey: Dawson we need to talk. come sit down
Dawson: Sure but frist you're flowers, there the same type that you used to grow outside, and just like the one i gave you on are frist date.
{ Joey's heart begain to bleed as if she could feel it breaking she begain to tear up alittle bit she softy smiled and put them in a vase with water then moved over to sit with dawson}
Joey: Listion dawson there somthing i need to tell you dawson
Dawson: Sure what is it jo?
Joey: Will you shut up..so i can tell you...( She felt bad she knew he didn't desevse that..) im sorry dawson its been along night.
Dawson: its ok..what is you wanted to tell me..
Joey: Dawson, Pacey's at the train station..
Dawson: Ok....
Joey: Dawson when you called last night i thought you where him..and by the time i noticed it you had already hung up
And to top if off when i tryed calling you back i called pacey by mistake and he heard what i had to tell you...
{ Dawson couldn't speak, his month wouldn't move... he just sit there blinking he couldn't believe what he was hearing. everything he was thinking just got broken}
Joey: Dawson im so so sorry...You know i love you.. but not that way anymore..
{ Before she could finish dawson stoud up and started walking to the door}
Joey: DAWSON WAIT!!! let me explain....( She jumped to her feet and ran to the door to stop him)
Dawson:...........
Joey: Dawson talk to me...
{ All he had in his heart and soul was rage....and heartbreak..but he managed to reply the calmest and softest way he could}
Dawson: And tell you what jo....that the girl that has drove me crazy in one way or another for as long as i can remember, told me she loved me and wanted to spend the rest of her life with me....but it was for pacey..i have nothing left to say...
Joey: Dawson im sorry but thats not fair...
Dawson: joey move...
Joey: No dawson i wont until i make things better..
Dawson: Joey in one way or another i have loved you since we where fifteen years old. and friends longer then that..do you know how much it kills me...Do you jo look at me can you truthfully tell me you dont love me..the way i love...that you dont feel the pain. joey i cant do this anymore!!! i can' t be you're firend..when i heard you say those things i thought it was are turn..i cant keep setting myself up to get distroyed.
Joey: You know i do!!!!!
Dawson: the Way you love pacey?? do you love me that way...joey...
Joey: DAWSON..!!! I.....I....
{ Tears where now rolling down joeys face }
Joey: Dawson you're not leaving me..
Dawson: HA..thats funny coming from you...Joey you left me on that dock along time ago..i guess i was to stuipd and didn't learn my lession. joey i sware to you if dont move right now ill move you myself
{ Joey slowly moved out of his way and feel to her knee's and begain to cry}
As Dawson was walking down the hall he came apon pacey. they looked each other dead in the eyes and pacey holding back " Dawson..." Dawson fighting back the tears " Sorry pace it was just a big misunderstanding she thought i was you..... i guess thats how its allways been.." and then walked away.. pacey knew somthing really bad just went down and rushed to joey's room, there he found her curled up crying. pacey quickly kneeled down and put his arms around her." Its ok jo..everything going to be ok.."
He slowly picked her up in his arms and layed her on the bed,although he didn't know what was said just from the looks on both there faces he knew they had it out he went into the kitchen and looked around for a glass and filled it with water, then returned to her bedroom and gave her the glass
Joey: Pace...
Pacey: Yeah jo?
Joey: will you go catch him.. and tell him im sorry..
Pacey: Sure thing jo..
Pacey ran his hand across her forehead and placed her bangs behind ear and kiss'ed her on the forehead. and headed out the door when pacey got to the bottom floor he seen dawson siting outside on the coner.pacey slowly walked up and sat down behind side him " You ok dawson?" Dawson just looked at him and wiped his eyes trying not to show pacey that he been cryin." Pace you think i could just have my friend sit in silcene with me instead of the guy who she loves." Pacey smiled " Sure thing dawson.." The two of them sat out there not saying a word until the sun started to go down. even though it was a busy street with people walking back and forth in and out cars going by they didn't say a word.Joey had gathered herself and was worrided that the two of them were probley in the hospital for beating eachother to death and headed down to the bottom level. when she steped out of the evelater a slight smile came over her face when she seen the two of them just siting there. she took a sit just in view of them and watched them. Dawson looked over to pacey and cleared his thort.
Dawson: You remember that night that at fair ground's when you asked me if you could kiss joey pace?
Pace: Boy do i..
Dawson: I wish we could go back in time..to that mommet. when my mind was so consumed with jen breaking my heart that i could just have said" Look pace you're my best friend in the world..and there's no one else id rather she be with..then just maybe... i'd have a heart left now.. and maybe i could have spent more time with jen....( dawson started to tear up) i miss her pace....god do miss her...and i think i was relaseing some built up stuff on joey....tell her im sorry
Pacey: ( laughs) then who would you have had to hate all junior summer..and i know dawson i do to and dawson she knows
Dawson: (laughs) i never hated you pace...i think i hated myself .
Pacey: Dawson?
Dawson: yeah pace?
Pacey: If you had the chance what else would you change.?
Dawson: Id probly try and stop you from frosting you're tips....(laughs)
They sat there for a few hours just talking about the past and present until they both got up to turn around and see joey with a smile on her face.dawson went over and hug'ed her and whisperd in her ear" Im sorry...and you're really free now." joey whisperd back" its not that easy..Rainman.." and they slowly kiss pacey stoud there with a grin on his face.and thought to himself " The Last Kiss.."
A week later joey and pacey where siting watching the ending of the last espiode of The Creek....And well the rest is history But folks remember this allways its not about who got who....its about friendship. |
