I don't like Brooke/Lucas together as they're written as idiots, but at least they've been together a while. Peyton goes to Jake, mutters something in her sleep about Lucas, and suddenly, we're supposed to buy him as her great love. Bleh. And I really hate the Dan/Haley/Nathan stuff because I think it's great. Yeah, it's contradictory, but hear me out...Paul Johannsen is the best actor on the show. Bethany Joy [new married name here] is the best actress. And Nathan/Haley is the best couple. But when they had Dan freaking kill Keith, they absolutely ruined his character. There's no way to make him better. And he's having these unbelievably emotional scenes with Haley where he finally feels genuinely sorry, and I want to feel good for him, but then I remember he KILLED HIS BROTHER. And I lose it. I didn't mind that he became cartoonishly evil (as people have put it) with his constant evil plots because he was such a bad guy, and he did it so well. He made me scream at the television each week. He made my jaw hang open. And when the storylines revolved around how people reacted to him, they were so much more intriguing. And I definitely think that Paul Johannsen is the best actor on the show, bar none. He can infuse such subtlety into the character. He's basically ruined now despite the writers' and PJ's best efforts to make him look human. Seriously, his scenes with Haley last week were the best straight up acting I've seen on the show in months. And they were almost incredibly touching.
