He didnt' expect anything from her!! It was a simple question....................... And she LIED about it!!! I honestly think he thought they had... and she lied about it gave him hope!! As for the Season 3 Pacey and Joey kiss.... they both knew how Dawson would react and who wouldn't in that situation............. The Coda Kiss was different, it would more of a goodbye kiss, I love you kiss..........
