I liked Eddie too and of course I never wanted to see Joey with anyone but Pacey but at least they had some chemistry. I always saw Eddie as a kind of combo of Dawson and Pacey. He wasn't into films but he was a creative type and highly intelligent. At the same time he was your classic bad boy, from a less privileged upbringing and with a major chip on his shoulder. If the show had gone another year I could definitely have let Joey hang with him awhile longer. The way they ended it for them was ignorant..... really bad. The writer's did Eddie NO favors whatsoever. Maybe his mom should've pulled some strings for him...........by then maybe his sister even could've helped.

I never liked eddie for some reason, i dont know if it was the way his character played out or the way they wrote him. i would have rather seen pacey with joey after eddie left the frist time, i cant really add much to this debate

Great question! I don't believe Joey and Eddie could have worked long term, until Joey had faced all her demons of the past, and she hadn't up to that point. She did deal with her daddy issues, but Pacey and Dawson were still very much a factor in all her relationships at taht point. I don't believe she had fully given up the idea of Dawson being her one and only - I know the sex sort of killed it, but she hadn't fully let him go until Joey Potter and the Capeside Redemption. And Pacey, she never dealt with him at all until Kmart...they just swept it all under the rug. How do you move on to a serious relationship with another guy, when you suffer from abandonment issues (from her dad and Pacey) and half-heartedly believe that Dawson is the only man who will love you completely? So Eddie was a Dawson and Pacey replacement...he was just different enough to make her feel like she was moving on, without having to actually move on. Now if she tried to pursue something serious with Charlie...now that may have been something....
