Both talk about how you should love but never let it control your life. Jen says you should love to the end of your fingers but don't chase after it, while Womack says that love shouldn't leave you bitter but it's a mistake worth making. Maybe that's a stress but I definitely see a similarity.
And, of course, both things are from a mother to a daughter(s).
So, am I reaching way too far here? I'm not taking anything away from what KW wrote for Jen because it's truly beautiful, but I wonder if he was influenced by those lyrics.[/quote:303f8cd54f]
You are definitely the most articulate one on here DukeDevils. This is a good post...Personally, I think its a coincedence that the song and speech match. They speak of the same subjects but dont share the same view or opinion on the subject, and near the end Michelle ad-libbed alot of the speech ( which made KW a little uneasy at first ). Maybe the contents are cliched, but the actual words are original and fresh, and like you said, they are delivered wonderfully. Cliches are what they are for a reason... :) |
